George Turnah Football Club of Kolo, Friday, made history, by winning its first ever victory, in its first game of a major football competition.

The Kolo-based side defeated their opponent, Bayelsa United Feeders, three goals to one, on Match day 4, at the ongoing state Federation Cup, at the Otuasega football pitch.

First half goals from Samuel Jerome, Precious Omonibo, and Christian Robert's strike in the last five minutes in the second half, was all the team needed to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition.

With majority of the spectators on their side, George Turnah FC created lots of chances, hit the woodwork twice, converted three, while three goals were disallowed by the match officials.

Coach of the team, Ada Gwegwe, praised his wards for their performance against Bayelsa United Feeders, while insisting he would work on his attackers, so as to utilised their chances in subsequent games.

Goalscorers, Samuel Jerome, Precious Omonibo, and Christian Robert, expressed their gratitude to God for giving them victory in their first ever game, assuring they will equally correct their mistakes in the matches ahead.

Bayelsa United Feeders Coach, George Ederekumo, on his part expressed his disappointment with his players for not following instructions dished out to them before and during the game.

George Turnah Football Club will next face Nembe City in the Semi-finals, who were three-one winners over United Football Club of Okaka, while Bayelsa United meet Images FC in the other Semi-final match.
